RIGA’S LEGENDARY HOTEL “METROPOLE” OPENS ITS DOORS TO GUESTS AGAIN

“Metropole” proudly bears the title of the city’s oldest hotel and first business class hotel and has been a destination for many distinguished guests of Riga since 1871. It is located in the very heart of the city, at Aspazijas boulevard 36/38, at the beginning of the Old Town of Riga, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
“We are proud that after a break of several years, the “Metropole” hotel will once again open its doors to visitors. This ancient pearl has not only a great location, but also a remarkable legendary story of experience. We are committed to providing each guest with an excellent guest experience, combining the hotel’s historical charm with modern amenities and services. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the “Metropole” hotel to share in the unique and unforgettable experience that we can provide,” emphasizes Alisa Junga, director of the “Metropole” hotel.
Today, the hotel’s new concept focused on art and history will allow not only foreign guests, but also local residents to enjoy the ancient atmosphere of the building and get acquainted with the works and exhibitions of talented artists.
The 150-year-old story of the legendary “Metropolis” can be read in every detail of the exterior and interior, carefully preserved with respect for historical values, on which the best European designers worked. For guest accommodation, rooms of various classes of the “Legend” collection with thematic details characteristic of the design and new elegant classic rooms of the “Modern” collection with a modern touch are available. Museum exhibits and works of contemporary Latvian artists will be available for visitors to view in the hotel premises. For business meetings, the hotel has rooms for discussions and meetings.
On the first floor of the hotel is the popular bar “De Commerce Gastro Pub 1871”, where hotel visitors will be treated to an international breakfast, while in the evenings the bar will invite you to selected drinks and snacks to enjoy peace and quiet in the heart of Riga in a particularly pristine atmosphere.
“Considering the increase in the number of foreign tourists in Riga, this year “Metropole” plans to reach the level of results of 2019, when an average of about 3,200 guests stayed at the hotel per month. At the same time, we will continue to actively work on attracting both individual travelers and business clients and tourist groups,” continues A. Junga, indicating that the newly opened hotel “Metropole” has also provided 28 new jobs for local residents.
Currently, the Latvian hotel chain “Semarah Hotels” can boast of the resort hotel “Lielupe” in Jurmala and two hotels in Riga – the elegant five-star design hotel “Grand Poet Hotel” on Raina Boulevard and the four-star historical hotel “Metropole” on Aspazijas Boulevard.
